Dr. Lindsay Gary is an adjunct professor of African American Studies at the University of Houston and of History at Houston Community College. Her research and teaching areas include:

Africology and African American Studies: Introduction to Black Studies, African Cultural Continuity in the Diaspora, Afro-Louisiana/Creole Culture, Ancient African Civilizations, Black Arts, African Spirituality, The Black Church, The Black Woman & African Womanism, Race and Racism

History: African American History, Ancient African Civilizations, United States History, Black Houston History, and Genealogy

Dance: Technique (Umfundalai, Dances of the African Diaspora, and Modern) and Theory (Black Dance History and Composition
